When to Seek Medical Care
What symptoms should not be ignored during menopause?
While many menopause symptoms are manageable, certain signs warrant prompt medical attention, including:
- Any vaginal bleeding after menopause has been confirmed
- Very heavy bleeding or bleeding between periods during perimenopause
- Chest pain, palpitations, or shortness of breath
- Severe mood changes, including thoughts of self-harm
- Sudden, unexplained weight loss
- Persistent pelvic pain
These symptoms are not necessarily dangerous, but they should always be evaluated by a healthcare professional to rule out other underlying conditions.
