Skin, Hair & Weight
Can menopause affect skin and hair?
Yes. Estrogen supports collagen production and skin hydration, so declining levels during menopause can lead to thinner, drier, less elastic skin and more visible fine lines. Similarly, hair can become thinner, drier, or more prone to shedding.
A gentle skincare routine, adequate hydration, and in some cases hormone therapy can help manage these changes. Persistent or significant hair loss is worth discussing with a doctor to rule out other contributing causes.
